At our Friday afternoon class, Bikram told us he would give us the night off - wha-hoo! He said he would still be at the lecture tent around 11pm and show another Bollywood movie and anyone who wanted to join him to watch were welcome. Hmmm, let me think about that...ok, NOT! Apparently, some students actually went...wow.
Instead, Amy, her roommate, and I checked out the $20 buffet in the hotel. To get to the buffet you have to walk through the entire casino part of the hotel, and OMG the cigarette smoke!! I had to hold my breath all the way through. Normally, I do not mind the smell of a smoke if it's only one or two people - in fact, sometimes I actually enjoy it [being an ex-smoker], but gag(!) I am not used to so many smokers together like that.
So, back to the Buffet. It was good, but $20 is pretty pricey to be eating there on a regular basis. And you feel like you should be eating at least $20 worth of food, and then you are so full it hurts! Bikram is working with the hotel to get a buffet or something specifically for the TT's at a cheaper cost so that will be good.
Saturday morning's class was taught by Ulysses from Mexico. I really liked his class. His dialogue was sometimes in English and sometimes in Spanish. And I loved that at Final Savasana, I didn't have to get up right away to go shower and change for lectures. I miss being able to do that. In Edmonton, I prided myself on being the last one out of the yoga room! So I am laying there doing my primordial sound meditation when Lauren, the nurse, came and checked to see if I was okay! I looked around and there was hardly anyone left in the room - I must have fallen asleep!
The rest of Saturday morning was spent on the 3rd floor at the pool studying dialogue and enjoying the sun...so nice. In the afternoon, Aimee, Leanne, Michelle and I walked to the Fashion Mall on the Strip. This is the high-end Mall with Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Sak's 5th Ave. I wanted to buy something at Sak's since those are my initials, but nothing in my price range - you know, like say $5 haha! They did have a nice candle for $125 though...
Saturday night, Aimee, Leanne, Lisa and Michelle all congregated in my room and we had a little party, showing off all the purchases, eating chips and cookies and drinking coke and tea! {Did I mention before that there is to be NO alcohol consumed during the training?} The only thing I bought [as well as Leanne and Michelle, all three in different colours] was this very warm(!) navy funky blanket shawl for $24 at Coldwater Creek. I think I am turning into an old hippy...meditating, yoga, my hair turning curly, and now a blanket shawl. But the shawl will be so perfect for the late, late lecture/movie nights.
Okay, so that's enough for now!! Gotta get ready to head out. Our agenda today is the laundromat [have I ever been to one??], then check out the Nevada Yoga Finals that are happening in town today, then groceries. How exciting!
