What was she thinking?!?!
It all started 3 years ago when I was at Qi Allaya's Crystal Bowl Meditation in Barrhead. I overheard one lady talking about this "hot yoga". I thought to myself...hmmm, I love the heat, and I love yoga, I am going to check this out! And so, at the tender age of 50(!), I attended my first Bikram Yoga class at the southside Edmonton studio and I was instantly addicted. I just loved it! It wasn't that long after that I made the decision, that once I sold my tax preparation business, I was going to go to teacher training.
And now...here I am, 53 years old, off to Las Vegas for 9 weeks for Bikram Yoga Teacher Training. And this training ain't for sissies! For those of you not in the know, Bikram Yoga is a 90-minute class of 26 postures practiced in a 42 degree room.
So my bags are packed, the car is loaded, and I start the long drive to Las Vegas. There are 6 trainees going from Edmonton. The other 5 are flying, but I chose to drive so I could over-pack :) and have a vehicle when I am down there.
I am going to use this blog as a journal, so I am warning you right now there may be times where it is TMI [too much information]. If that happens, just plug your ears and say "watermelons, watermelons, watermelons"...that's what I do when I don't want to hear something. :)
That's it for tonight. Must sleep fast and get up early and on the road by 9:30ish.
Happy 81st Birthday, Mom!! Love you!
